Sivas branch of The Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen organized its first conference addressing its members at Sivas Commercial Exchange Conference Hall. The opening speech was made by MÜSİAD President Mustafa Coşkun made the opening speech in which he said that they would be focusing on islamic insurance in the first of the training activities addressing their members. Coşkun, named Takaful as a developing subject and said, “In recent years Takaful is developing in both Islamic countries and Turkey. In United Kingdom, United States of America and many Islamic states both Islamic banking and Islamic insurance are used.”
Following this speech, Cumhuriyet University Insurance and Risk Management Department Teacher Fuat Çamlıbel made a speech saying that Takaful has been presented as an alternative insurance method by and for the community which believes that traditional insurance was inappropriate. Telling the history of Islamic insurance since the times of Muhammed, the Prophet Camlıbel also referred to the forecasts that the Islamic community will grow from 24,86 percent of the World population in 2010 to 26,01 in 2015. Çamlıbel also said that, there were over 200 companies presenting Takaful products in 33 countries.
